May narrowed the field. Nine of the ten most-wanted watches this month are Rolex, the most lopsided the list has ever looked, and the references collectors gravitated toward share a certain seriousness. A no-date Submariner, an Explorer II, two GMT variants, the ever-popular Wimbledon. This is what consolidation looks like. As summer approaches, collector attention is settling on the core of the Rolex catalog rather than spreading toward novelty.

10. Rolex Daytona "Panda" Ref. 116500LN-0001

The previous-generation ceramic Daytona returns to the list for the first time since August. Its white dial and black subdials remain the configuration most collectors picture when they think of the modern Daytona, and its reappearance speaks to the enduring pull of the reference even as a newer version exists in the catalog. That it resurfaces at all, years into a production run that has since been superseded, is a measure of how firmly the Panda holds its place.

9. Rolex GMT-Master II "Bruce Wayne" Ref. 126710GRNR-0004

The Oyster-bracelet Bruce Wayne returns after roughly eight months away, last appearing in September. Its arrival here, alongside the Jubilee version at the top of the list, marks the first time since that month both bracelet configurations have charted together. The Oyster offers a sportier, more restrained take on the same grey-and-black bezel, and the contrast between the two has become a quiet referendum on how collectors want their GMT to read on the wrist.

8. Omega Speedmaster Professional "Moonwatch" Ref. 310.30.42.50.01.002

The black-dial Moonwatch is the only non-Rolex watch on the list this month, and it drifts down one spot from April. That isolation says more about the Rolex surge around it than any decline in the Moonwatch itself. It has appeared in twelve of the thirteen months this series has tracked, a record of consistency no other reference can match. Even in a month defined by Rolex, the Speedmaster remains the one outside voice collectors keep returning to.

7. Rolex Explorer II "Polar" Ref. 226570-0001

The Explorer II Polar returns after its appearance in February, bringing an overt tool-watch posture back to the rankings. At 42mm with a fixed steel bezel and a high-contrast white dial, it stands apart from the Submariner and GMT in both function and feel. Its reappearance fits the month's character. May rewarded references built for utility rather than ornament, and few Rolex sport models wear their purpose as plainly as the Explorer II.

6. Rolex Submariner Ref. 124060-0001

The no-date Submariner makes its first appearance on this list, and its debut is quietly fitting for the month. Stripped of the date and cyclops, it is the purest expression of the Submariner concept, the version collectors reach for when they want the design without a single unnecessary element. Its arrival alongside the date Submariner at second underscores a pattern this series has tracked all year, where collectors pursue closely related references in parallel rather than picking one over the other.

5. Rolex GMT-Master II "Batgirl" Ref. 126710BLNR-0002

The Batgirl slips to fifth after holding third for two consecutive months. The move down doesn't reflect cooling so much as a crowded field above it. Its Jubilee bracelet and blue-and-black bezel continue to occupy a specific register within the GMT lineup, refined enough to set it apart from the Batman, distinctive enough to hold its own. After a long stretch of inconsistent appearances last year, three straight months in the top five marks the steadiest run the Batgirl has shown.

4. Rolex Submariner Date "Starbucks" Ref. 126610LV-0002

The Starbucks holds fourth for a second consecutive month. It has now appeared in eight of the thirteen months tracked, never leading the list but rarely falling far from view. Its green bezel and black dial strike a balance between distinction and tradition, the most wearable expression of color in Rolex's current Submariner lineup. Two months in the same position suggests the reference has found a stable audience rather than a fleeting moment of interest.

3. Rolex Datejust 41 "Wimbledon" Ref. 126334-0022

The Wimbledon climbs from fifth in April to third in May, continuing a familiar seasonal rise. It led this list in June, July, and September last year as its namesake tournament drew near, and this year's ascent follows the same logic. The green Roman numerals and fluted bezel give it just enough character to stand out without leaning on it. With the grass-court season weeks away, the climb has further to run.

2. Rolex Submariner Date Ref. 126610LN-0001

The black Submariner holds second for a second consecutive month. It has now appeared in ten of the thirteen months tracked and led the list twice. Its position just below the top reflects the strength of the watch above it rather than any softening of demand. The 126610LN remains the reference collectors cite when they want a watch that needs no explanation.

1. Rolex GMT-Master II "Bruce Wayne" Ref. 126710GRNR-0003

The Bruce Wayne leads for the second month running, and the longer record is what gives the placement weight. It has now claimed the top spot in five of the thirteen months this series has tracked, more than any other reference, with first-place finishes in August, October, November, April, and now May. In a market where collector attention rarely settles on any single watch for long, the Bruce Wayne keeps drawing it back.
